I was out the past two days finishing up my marathon eye surgery tour (hopefully they’re done), and I wanted to catch up on some of the things that happened around the Las Vegas Raiders while I was gone.
There wasn’t much, but here’s some thoughts on the bigger issues that occurred:
Blidi Wreh-Wilson visits:
The veteran backup cornerback visited the Raiders this week. It was a bit surprising because they just signed cornerback Rasul Douglas on Monday and have a pretty full group at cornerback. I get it — the more competition the better. So, we’ll see if the Raiders end up inking Wreh-Wilson.
Arden Key signs with San Francisco:
The third-round pick of the Raiders in 2018 signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. Key was released by the Raiders a week ago. San Francisco might be a good spot for Key because it has a strong defensive line and there will be no pressure on him. Still, he will need a big training camp to make the 49ers’ roster. I have to say this: I wasn’t expecting Key to get signed before Maurice Hurst, who was released at the same time last week.
The Mark Davis situation:
I didn’t mention this last because of importance, but because I think the situation is over. Things eased up on the Raiders’ owner when the family of George Floyd thanked the Raiders for their well wishes. It was a sticky situation, and hopefully everyone can move on.
It’s good to be back!
