There will be a fascinating comparison to watch during the 2021 NFL season between former Las Vegas Raiders’ defensive tackle Maurice Hurst and new Raiders’ defensive tackle Solomon Thomas.
The Raiders signed Thomas — the No. 3 overall pick in the 2017 draft — in March after four lackluster seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. The presence of Thomas helped the Raiders decide to cut Hurst last week after three seasons. Hurst, a fifth-round pick in 2018, officially signed with the 49ers on Friday.

Essentially, the two players were traded for each other, albeit as free agents. So, naturally, they will be compared all season on their impact on their new teams.
So, here’s the question to you: Who would you rather have on the Raiders’ 2021 roster, Hurst or Thomas?
Hurst was a decent piece for the Raiders for three seasons and graded out well on analytics sites, for what it’s worth. Thomas has often been injured and hasn’t made much of an impact in the NFL. But the Raiders have hope he can fit well into their system.
Do you think the Raiders are in better shape with Thomas in the middle of the defensive line rather than Hurst? Take our poll and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
