Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley has often been connected to the Las Vegas Raiders during the draft process.
NFL reporter Albert Breer said Tuesday that the Raiders have been doing a lot of work on Farley lately.
Now it seems that Farley is becoming one of the more polarizing prospects in the draft. He was initially considered a top 15 to 20 pick and his agent Drew Rosenhaus told NFL Media that he doesn’t see Farley going past No. 20 (the Chicago Bears own that pick) on Thursday night. However, NFL Media reports there is chatter that Farley could fall.
Farley opted out of the 2020 college season and has had two back surgeries since he last played. Those factors could promote a draft-night tumble.
If he does fall, perhaps he could be a candidate for the Raiders if they trade down from No. 17 or trade up into the back end of the first round.
I personally don’t think the Raiders need to draft a cornerback early, but Farley has been connected to the Silver and Black, so it’s something to monitor on draft night,
