The answer to the trivia question: Is Aug. 14, 2021.
That’s when fans will finally be able to attend a Las Vegas Raiders game at Allegiant Stadium. The team announced its preseason schedule with dates and times on Friday. The preseason opponents were announced last week along with the regular schedule.
The Raiders will open the three-game preseason (down from four because of the new 17-game regular-season schedule) at Allegiant Stadium on Aug. 14 against the Seattle Seahawks. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
While preseason games are generally well ... terrible, this game will be special because there will finally be fans in the seats after the team had to play its first season in a beautiful new empty stadium because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Raiders’ final two preseason games will be on the road: Aug. 21 at the Los Angeles Rams (7 p.m.) and Aug. 29 at the San Francisco 49ers (1 p.m.). The former Bay Area rivals haven’t played in the preseason in 10 years because of an outbreak of violence in the stands and parking lot at the old Candlestick Park.
Our dress rehearsals are set.
