Shortly after Carl Nassib made the historic announcement on Monday that made him the first active NFL player to ever come out as gay, I wrote about the impact it would have on the world.

I said that people would soon be wearing Carl Nassib’s No. 94 Las Vegas Raiders jersey around the globe because he is now a historical figure in all of sports.

However, I didn’t expect the support for Nassib to be so instantly overwhelming. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Nassib’s gear has already become been the highest-selling jersey in the NFL since his announcement.

Nassib donated $100,000 to the foundation on Monday while making his announcement. Then on Tuesday, the NFL matched Nassib’s generosity with their own $100,000 donation.
