One thing that’s been clear in the past couple of weeks is that the Las Vegas Raiders have felt the need to tinker with the bottom of their offensive line.
The team has made several tweaks to the roster recently, including officially bringing back right tackle Sam Young on Monday.
Where does that leave the Las Vegas’ offensive line? We already know the starters. It will be first-round pick Alex Leatherwood at right tackle, likely Denzelle Good at right guard, Andre James at center, Richie Incognito at left guard and Kolton Miller at left tackle.
But what about the reserves behind them?
That’s where it gets interesting. The Raiders will likely carry either four or five backup offensive linemen.

Young should make it as a swing tackle. Nick Martin, who could push James, is the likely backup at center. Second-year player John Simpson could push Good at right tackle and provide injury insurance for Incognito, who missed 14 games last season.
The Raiders also have seventh-round pick, center Jimmy Morrissey, who they like, Jaryd Jones-Smith (who Las Vegas general manager Mike Mayock has publicly lauded), 2018 third-round pick Brandon Parker, veteran Patrick Omameh (who they just re-signed), and Lester and Parker Ehinger (who they just signed).
They will likely not keep more than two of these players. Morrissey’s best chance to make the 53-man roster is to impress at both center and guard (he can play both) in the preseason. If not, he could be headed to the practice squad.
One of the last spots may come down to Parker, Jones-Smith, Omaheh and Ehinger.
All of recent these moves make it clear the Parker may be running out of patience with Parker, who they traded up to take with the first pick of the third round in Jon Gruden’s first draft back with the team. His scholarship is running out and the competition will be stiff for him this summer.
