Las Vegas Raiders backup quarterback Nathan Petermen has started and played most of the preseason. He has the highest amount of passing yards and is number one in passing attempts as well.
Now he joins as the number one quarterback in total fines. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network announced he received a penalty for lowering his head vs the Los Angeles Rams.
#Raiders QB Nathan Peterman and #Rams DB J.R. Reed were each fined $5,556 for unnecessary roughness — unsportsmanlike conduct in last week’s preseason game.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 28, 2021
It was odd for Petermen to receiver a fine for this, especially since he took the brunt of the hit. The NFL usually protects quarterbacks over other plays, but this was not the case regarding the Petermen situation.
The former Pittsburg Panther is getting all the snaps again for preseason Week 3. Hopefully, he keeps his head up and avoids another $5500 out of his weekly paycheck.
