11:40 a.m.: Raiders’ injury update:
Active Raiders that I didn't see at practice today: G Richie Incognito, DE Clelin Ferrell, LB Nicholas Morrow (foot), LB Javin White (knee) and CB Keisean Nixon (leg).
— Tashan Reed (@tashanreed) September 1, 2021
LB Nick Kwiatkoski made his return today after missing several practices. LB Denzel Perryman made his debut.
10:44 a.m.: It’s a number’s game.
For numbers folks: DT Quinton Jefferson is listed as No. 77, DT Gerald McCoy as No. 93 and LB Denzel Perryman as No. 52. https://t.co/OTxHHdB2EE
— Tashan Reed (@tashanreed) September 1, 2021
10:29 a.m.: The Denver Broncos are cutting running back Royce Freeman. Perhaps the Raiders will show interest. He played with Raiders’ backup quarterback Marcus Mariota at Oregon in 2014.
With a couple of waiver claims and the need for space on the roster, the #Broncos are cutting RB Royce Freeman, source said. He’s averaged 4 yards per carry over two years in Denver.

9:38 a.m.: The Denzel Perryman trade is official.

We have made the following roster moves » https://t.co/xB1lbdw958 pic.twitter.com/YphQ5ngXJM
2:17 p.m.: No surprise on Amik Robertson, but give him credit for having a strong camp.
FYI: No surprise, but Amik Robertson makes the @Raiders 53-man roster
— Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) August 31, 2021
1:46 p.m.: First, Karl Joseph, now John Brown.
#Raiders WR John Brown requested his release and the team granted it, per source. "Smoke" is back on the market.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) August 31, 2021
1:25 p.m.: Another non-shocking cut:
Waiting on #Raiders cuts but told veteran CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson is among them.
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) August 31, 2021
1:13 p.m.: More cuts. These are not surprises:
Per source: @Raiders have released G Lester Cotton Jr and RB Garrett Groshek
— Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) August 31, 2021
12:58 p.m.: Undrafted rookie wide receiver Dillon Stoner was cut. That probably means veteran John Brown is safe. Also, with so many recently drafted receivers cut this week, I’d expect Stoner to clear waivers and go to Raiders’ practice squad.
Rookie WR Dillion Stoner waived (as @LeviDamien tweeted) and #Raiders cross their fingers they can get him on practice squad.
— Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) August 31, 2021
12:25 p.m.: Here’s a surprise: Karl Joseph is cut, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Per source: @Raiders are waiving veteran S Karl Joseph
— Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) August 31, 2021
12:14 p.m.: Defensive tackle Kendal Vickers is cut. He was a surprise addition last year. The defensive tackle room is deep now, which is a good thing. He could return on the practice squad.
Raiders releasing DL Kendal Vickers.
— Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) August 31, 2021
11:26 a.m.: Keelan Doss is a tough kid, but the receiver group was too deep. Maybe he hangs around the practice squad again.
Per source: @Raiders have waved WR Keelan Doss
— Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) August 31, 2021
11:21 a.m.: More cuts via Levi Damien. No shocks here. Matt Dickerson getting cut isn’t a big surprise. The veteran defensive tackle was lost in the shuffle.
DT Matt Dickerson will be released by the #Raiders per source. The 4th year veteran had been signed this offseason, joining a crowded competition at 3-tech.
— Levi Damien (@LeviDamien) August 31, 2021
#Raiders are waiving/injured veteran TE Alex Ellis (wrist) per source.
— Levi Damien (@LeviDamien) August 31, 2021
#Raiders are waiving OT Devery Hamilton per source. Spent most of camp on Non-football illness list before being waived and brought back. He played a lot at RT Sunday. Strong consideration to be signed back to the practice squad.
— Levi Damien (@LeviDamien) August 31, 2021
LB Asmar Bilal will be waived by #Raiders per source. Bilal played two games with the #Chargers last season under Gus Bradley.
— Levi Damien (@LeviDamien) August 31, 2021
9:46 a.m.: Here is one beat writer’s thoughts on the Raiders’ shopping list this week. I think it starts at the offensive line and at linebacker.
Devonta Freeman is interesting but there are mixed reviews on his pass blocking.
— Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) August 31, 2021
9:41 a.m.: The Raiders are cutting third-round cornerback Isiah Johnson. They had big hopes in 2019 when they took him in the fourth round. But he couldn’t stay healthy.
The #Raiders are waiving CB Isaiah Johnson, per source. Fourth-round pick in 2019 draft headed for a fresh start.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) August 31, 2021
7:50 a.m.: The Giants have cut cornerback Madre Harper. He was originally signed as a Raiders’ undrafted free agent. The Raiders are pretty full at cornerback, so I’m not sure there is a fit.
The #Giants are releasing CB Madre Harper, source said. He played in nine games for them last year.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 31, 2021
7:49 a.m.: Washington is cutting tackle David Sharpe. The Raiders traded him there. It wouldn’t be a shock if the Raiders make a claim if they want to beef up their O-line.
Washington has released OT David Sharpe, per source.

August 30
3:31 p.m.: This is no surprise, but the Raiders may make some trades in the next day. I can see the offensive line and linebacker being areas Las Vegas looks to add at.
Obviously, it will take two to tango, but hearing the @Raiders are monitoring the trade market in hopes of strengthening some areas.
— Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) August 30, 2021
3:26 p.m.: Linebacker Denzel Perryman has passed his physical with the Raiders and thus his trade from the Carolina Panthers should be official soon, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
FYI: Per person with knowledge, Denzel Perryman has passed his @Raiders physical and will be part of the 53-man roster
— Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) August 30, 2021
2:58 p.m.: If the Raiders want another veteran backup to Andre James at center, Matt Skura is available. If the Raiders like him more than current backup Nick Martin, there could be interest.
A surprise: The #Dolphins have released C Matt Skura, source said.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) August 30, 2021
2:43 p.m.: Linebacker Darron Lee was given an injury settlement, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He went on the injured reserve recently. Now, he is off the roster entirely.
FYI: @Raiders and LB Darron Lee have come to an injury settlement, so he is no longer part of the organization
