As expected, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Yannick Ngakoue is active and expected to play Sunday at the Pittsburgh Steeles. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. PT.
Ngakoue suffered a hamstring injury late in the Raiders’ 33-27 Week 1 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. The team was worried it could be a serious injury and he would likely not play against the Steelers. Yet, Ngakoue practiced all week. It will be interesting to see if Ngakoue is on some sort of play count because of the injury. With Ngakoue banged up, defensive end Clelin Ferrell is active Sunday. He was not active last week.
The Raiders do have several injured players out against the Steelers that the team announced Friday. They include star tailback Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle), guard Richie Incognito (calf), linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski (concussion) and backup safety Roderic Teamer (ankle). The other Las Vegas inactive players Sunday are tight end Nick Bowers, guard Jordan Simmons and defensive tackle Damion Square.
Defensive linemen Carl Nassib and Darius Philon are active after both were questionable to play on the injury report.
For Pittsburgh, key defensive starters, cornerback Joe Haden and linebacker Devin Bush are out with groin injuries.
