September 30

8:44 a.m.: Former Raiders’ draft pick, punter Johnny Townsend, is back in the league.


September 29

1:43 p.m.: Raiders defensive tackle Gerald McCoy was suspended for the next six games for violating the NFL’s PED guidelines. He is out for the season on the injured reserve. He will not be paid for the next six games, though. He is on a one-year contract.

1:40 p.m.: Running back Trey Ragas is back on the Raiders’ practice squad and is a former Bears’ receiver.

8:02 a.m.: Richard Sherman, who was often connected to the Raiders this offseason, is now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

2:13 p.m.: Here’s some stats that tell the story of the defensive revival under Gus Bradley.

7:32 a.m.: The Denver Broncos are swiping receiver David Moore off the Raiders’ practice squad.

1:00 p.m.: Josh Gordon is headed to the AFC West.

September 22

1:44 p.m.: The Raiders made the signing of tackle Jackson Barton official and have cut linebacker Marquel Lee to make room for Barton on the 53-man roster. Lee was promoted from the practice squad last week. He is a candidate to go back to the Raiders’ practice squad.

8:26 a.m.: Former Raiders’ cornerback Nevin Lawson, who the team cut Monday, has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Raiders wanted to keep him on the practice squad. But veteran corners after pretty popular on the open market these days.


September 21

8:55 a.m.: Nevin Lawson, cut by the Raiders on Monday, already has interest.

8:26 a.m.: Linebacker Cory Littleton restructured his contract again.

8:21 a.m.: This is going to be good.


September 16

1:49 p.m.: Carl Nassib, a hero in Monday night’s win, practiced Thursday after sitting out Wednesday. Also, defensive tackle Darius Philon was added to the injury report.

11:37 a.m.: Nothing much appeared to change at Raiders’ practice Thursday. It looks like Yannick Ngakoue has a chance to play Sunday at Pittsburgh. It doesn’t look good for Richie Incognito and we will see on Josh Jacobs. We should learn more Friday.

9:10 a.m.: Raiders’ tight end Darren Waller can make NFL history Sunday at Pittsburgh.


September 15

2:15 p.m.: Get your Raiders’ Nike Zoom Pegasus 38 shoe here through fanatics.

2:12 p.m.: Cornerback Madre Harper was released from the Raiders’ practice squad.

12:05 p.m.: The Raiders are trying to get the NFL’s attention when it comes to receiver Hunter Renfrow and the hits he takes. This is pretty routine stuff, but it’s interesting. Let’s see if officials keep a closer eye on Renfrow in the near future.

11:48 a.m.: The Raiders are signing offensive lineman Jordan Simmons from the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad. He replaces Denzelle Good, who is out for the season with a torn ACL. Simmons, who was on the Raiders’ practice squad in 2017-18, will be a backup.

5:51 a.m.: MADD MAXX DID IT. Raiders’ stud pass-rusher Maxx Crosby was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his two-sack performance against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Congrats, sir.


September 14

1:35 p.m.: The Buffalo Bills have joined the Raiders as the only NFL teams that will require fans to be vaccinated to attend home games this season.

7:58 a.m.: For all the talk that Raiders’ cornerback Damon Arnette improved, he played just one defensive snaps Monday night. That’s not ideal for a No. 19 overall pick starting his second season.


September 13

2:01 p.m.: Running back Trey Ragas was elevated for the game tonight by the Raiders.

1:12 p.m.: Justin “Jelly” Ellis, who the Raiders drafted in 2014, will face them Monday night.

12:02 p.m.: The Raiders signed veteran safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the practice squad. He visited with the team in the offseason. He hasn’t played in the regular season since 2019.


September 10

1:38 p.m.: The only change on the Raiders’ injury report Friday is that backup defensive end Carl Nassib practiced fully after being limited with a pec injury Thursday. So, barring a setback, Nassib should play Monday.

10:58 a.m.: Richie Incognito is missing practice for the 22nd straight day with a calf issue. It’s looking more and more like second-year player John Simpson will start at left guard against the Ravens Monday.

8:13 a.m.: The running back-depleted Ravens have added a familiar name in time to face the Raiders.


September 9

11:24 a.m.: An update on all team’s current salary-cap space. It’s not that pretty for the Raiders after a lot of maneuvering.

9:04 a.m.: The Raiders may face running back Le’Veon Bell on Monday night.

8:38 a.m.: Info on Tom Flores and Charles Woodson getting their Pro Football Hall of Fame swag.


September 8

2:17 p.m.: What a troll job.

2:15 p.m.: An update on the Raiders’ business operation:

12:30 p.m.: It looks like the Ravens will have a key defensive player ready Monday in Las Vegas,

12:01 p.m.: Raiders’ star tight end Daren Waller has beefed up his representation. Waller is entering the second of a four-year, $29 million deal. He is one of the great bargains in the game. Perhaps he is looking for a contract adjustment. He’s definitely earned it.

11:21 a.m.: Some interesting NFL vaccine stats. It looks pretty good.

September 7

3:05 p.m.: Here are the Raiders’ four protected players on the practice squad this week.

2:39 p.m.: A familiar running back is available now, too.

2:22 p.m.: Linebacker Tanner Muse cleared waivers after being cut by the Raiders on Monday. They can bring him back to the practice squad if there is mutual interest.

2:20 p.m. After visiting with D’Onta Foreman, the Raiders also worked out another veteran running back.

8:22 a.m.: The Raiders continued to tinker with their salary-cap to create room, by moving around some of Carl Nassib’s contract.


September 2

12:58 p.m.: The Raiders have seven team captains.

10:59 a.m.: As expected, tight end Derek Carrier is back after being cut Tuesday. Expect some roster shuffling later today with, at least, one player going to the injured reserve.

10:57 a.m.: Clelin Ferrell is back after being out for more than a week. That’s a good sign he should be ready to play Week 1 in 11 days against the Baltimore Ravens.

8:52 a.m.: The Raiders restructured the contract of linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski. But they still have some work to do so they have a little breathing room to add a piece or two.
