In what is not a shocking development, the Las Vegas Raiders will be without standout running back Josh Jacobs when they host the Miami Dolphins at Allegiant Stadium in a 1:05 p.m. PT kickoff.
Jacobs was on the Raiders’ list of inactive players on Sunday. Las Vegas coach Jon Gruden said Friday that Jacobs was doubtful to play against the Dolphins.
Jacobs missed the Raiders’ 26-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 after hurting his toe and ankle in a 33-27 Week 1 overtime win over the Baltimore Ravens. Jacobs has just 10 carries for 34 yards this season. This is Jacobs’ sixth missed game in 35 NFL games. Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber will continue to be the tailbacks Sunday against the Dolphins.
The Raiders’ two other injured players out Sunday are backup safeties Dallin Leavitt (concussion) and Roderic Teamer (ankle). Leavitt was hurt at Pittsburgh and Teamer has been out for three weeks.
The Raiders’ healthy inactive players Sunday are defensive end Malcom Koonce, tackle Jackson Barton, tight end Nick Bowers and defensive tackle Damion Square. Koonce, a third-round pick, is clearly getting off to a slow start.
