Raiders’ Week 1 opponent: Get to know the 2021 Ravens

Baltimore visits Las Vegas for Monday Night Football on Sept. 13

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Washington Football Team Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

The Las Vegas Raiders open the 2021 season on Sept. 13 for Monday Night Football at home against the Baltimore Ravens.

Before that historic game at Allegiant finally before fans, let’s look at some key aspects of John Harbaugh’s team.

2020 record:
11-5, tied for second place in AFC North. Went 1-1 in playoffs. Lost at Buffalo in AFC divisional playoffs.

2021 preseason record:
3-0. Baltimore has won 20 straight games in the preseason, which is an NFL record.

Week 1 factoid:
The Ravens have been monsters in Week 1 recently. In the past four season openers, Baltimore has outscored its opponents by a score of 164-19. You read that correctly. That means they are averaging 41 points a game in that stretch, while allowing an average of just 4.75 a game. Clearly, Harbaugh focusses on winning in training camp and it shows.

Early Ravens’ injury report:
Running back J.K. Dobbins is out for the season with a knee injury. Receivers Rashod Bateman and Miles Boykin are out for at least three weeks. Tight end Nick Boyle is questionable to play Monday with a knee injury. We will hear more about Baltimore’s injuries as the week progresses.

Betting line:
Ravens -4.5 points. O/U 52.
