The Las Vegas Raiders hit the practice field again on Tuesday as they have begun earnest preparations for the regular season opener against the Baltimore Ravens at home on Monday Night Football — and two key offensive players were not participating,

The Athletic’s Tashan Reed reported that both left guard Richie Incognito and running back Josh Jacobs were again not on the field. Incognito hasn’t worked in nearly three weeks with a calf issue. Jacobs didn’t work Monday for an undisclosed reasons.

Because the Raiders play their opening game on Monday, they don’t have to give any injury information until Thursday. At the moment, it would appear Incognito’s issue is more serious because of the length of time he has been out and the lack of information on Jacobs. Second-year guard John Simpson would start against the Ravens if Incognito can’t play. If Jacob’s issue keeps him out of the Baltimore game, new backup Kenyan Drake would take on a bigger role.

The Raiders are also looking at a running back Tuesday. It is not known if it is related to Jacobs’ status.

UPDATE: Jacobs is expected to practice Thursday.

Incognito, 38, was lost for the season in Week 2 in 2020 with an Achilles issue. The Raiders are counting on him because of the inexperience on the offensive line. Center Andre James has started one game and right tackle Alex Leatherwood is a rookie. Thus, Incognito’s presence is vital.
