It is speculation season already and we’re still about four weeks before it truly kicks into high gear.
Yet, we are in preparation mode for the team to begin their head coaching and general manager searches after the season. Yes, interim coach Antonio Pierce and general manager Champ Kelly could be retained, but there will be other candidates regardless.
Recently the Las Vegas Raiders mentioned the possibility of a fascinating possibility when it comes to the next general manager.
In 1997 the Colts changed the trajectory of their franchise by sending a draft pick to Carolina for Bill Polian, then handed him the keys to their football operation. Could @Raiders do something similar to lure a Les Snead or Howie Roseman to Vegas? Story: https://t.co/5MVwR4hZlq— Vincent Bonsignore (@VinnyBonsignore) December 6, 2023
Those types of moves would very likely require a trade and that can get tricky,
Look, anything is possible. But there would be have to be a lot of things that fall in place for the Raiders to make such a move. And it could be costly in terms of trade compensation.
Again, this is all the beginning stages, but do you like the idea of getting an established, proven winner as the GM at a price or do you thing it would be too much trouble?
Should the Raiders try to trade for a proven GM?
