With the short turnaround as the Las Vegas Raiders play the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football in Week 15, the Raiders have only conducted walkthroughs instead of full practices so far this week. However, starters Maxx Crosby (knee), Josh Jacobs (quad), Andre James (ankle) and Kolton Miller (shoulder) were estimated as non-participants had the team held a full practice.

Crosby has been dealing with fluid in his knee during the team’s last couple of games, however, he still participated in 82 percent and 97 percent of the Raiders’ defensive snaps in those two contests respectively, per Pro Football Reference. Meanwhile, Jacobs left the matchup against the Vikings around the midway point of the fourth quarter, and James had to be taken out around the same time. As for Miller, he’s missed three out of Las Vegas’ last four contests.
If Crosby can’t go on Thursday, expect to see the Silver and Black go with a rotation at defensive end that includes Malcolm Koonce, rookie Tyree Wilson and Janarius Robinson. Malik Reed could factor into the mix as well, but Reed was a healthy scratch in favor of Robinson against Minnesota.
As for Jacobs, Zamir White will likely be elevated as the team’s lead rusher while Ameer Abdullah steps in on passing downs. In the trenches, Jordan Meredith filled in for James last week, and the Raiders typically have Jermaine Eluemunor lineup at left tackle and put Thayer Munford on the right side when Miller can’t go.
The team also placed linebacker Kana’i Mauga on injured reserve, continuing a streak of bad injury luck for Mauga, who was just coming off of a stint on IR and playing in his first game since October last Sunday.
Meanwhile, the Chargers officially placed starting quarterback Justin Herbert on injured reserve Tuesday, and Herbert is expected to have surgery on his broken right index finger, per NFL Network.
Los Angeles is also holding walkthroughs this week, so their injury report is an estimate as well, but wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) and cornerback Deane Leonard (ankle/heel) were listed as ‘DNPs’. Everyone else noted was either ‘full’ or ‘limited’ with wide receiver Josh Palmer’s (knee) status being the most significant.
Palmer hasn’t played and has been on IR since Week 8, but he was activated by Los Angeles on Tuesday, meaning he’ll be suiting up in Las Vegas on Thursday. The team also promoted rookie Max Duggan from the practice squad to the active roster to serve as Easton Stick’s backup, who will be taking over for Herbert.
