The Las Vegas Raiders hope to stay in the playoff race with a win Monday night. Their record right now is 6-8, and a loss would put them out of a chance of participating in the postseason.
Traveling to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs won't be an easy road. The Raiders have beaten the Chiefs once since 2017, with most games not scoring close. This could be a game where the Silver and black gain traction in the AFC West.
Interim head coach Antonio Pierce feels the team is ready for the challenge. The execution in practice has fit his needs, and he thinks their confidence is high.
“Yeah, big time. A little Ric Flair today, we had the ‘Woo!’ We had that going on today. So, confidence, swag, belief. You got to have that, man. You got to walk into the building believing you are the baddest ass, right? You got to believe you are top notch. Are you? I don’t know. You go to go out there and prove it to everybody, and that’s our goal. And that’s what we’re trying to do. But that’s one thing I believe and really try to push into our team is confidence. Believe in who you are. If you’re not, you shouldn’t be in this business.”
The Raiders need this confidence to win a tough road matchup vs. a division rival. If they could pull off a big upset, it could help keep Pierce on the job going into 2024.
