It led to the release of veteran cornerback Marcus Peters. Peters was supposed to uplift a young room with his game knowledge. However, Peters never displayed the effort to help push the back-end to the next level.
The release of Marcus Peters set the stage for Brandon Facyson. He returned to the Raiders this offseason but was on injured reserve. He was designated to return along with Kana’i Mauga and the team has a 21-day window to activate them to the 53-man roster.
Facyson could help keep Nate Hobbs inside, with Jack Jones as the opposite corner outside. This would strengthen the group and increase their chances of winning games late in the season.
