February 28

3:09 p,m.: The Raiders have hired Derius Swinton as their assistant special teams coach. He replaces Maurice Drayton who become the head coach at The Citadel. Swinton was out of the NFL last season after being fired as the Chargers special teams coach after one season. He has been an assistant special teams coach in several spots.

5:23 a.m.: Washington has give the franchise tag to defensive tackle Daron Payne, the first in the league this year. Payne would have likely been a target of the Raiders. The Raiders have a week to decide whether to give running back Josh Jacobs the franchise tag or not.

5:12 a.m.: Former Raiders’ quarterback is going to meet with, at least, three teams at the combine this week and two of them are second visits.


February 27

4:29 p.m.: Derek Carr is going to meet with several teams in Indianapolis at the combine this week. He’s already met with the Saints and Jets.

1:37 p.m.: Derek Carr may not get the money he wants in free agency.

7:58 a.m.: If the Raiders want the No. 1 draft pick, it’s likely available.

9:23 a.m.: Derek Carr is looking for big money in free agency.

7:21 a.m.: Is an Aaron Rodgers’ decision looming now that he has left the darkness?

12:26 p.m.: ESPN reports “an important” source thinks Aaron Rodgers will be back in Green Bay in 2023.

7:17 a.m.: It doesn’t appear that Derek Carr is going to be signing with a new team any time soon.

10:16 a.m.: Another Lombardi is headed to Las Vegas. Matt Lombardi, offensive coordinator Mick’s younger brother, is joining the Raiders’ coaching staff as an offensive assistant/assistant wide receivers coach. Mick and Matt’s father, Michael, was also the Senior personnel executive for the Silver in Black from 1998 to 2007.


February 13

1:35 p.m.: The Raiders will have to cut Derek Carr on Tuesday.

8:02 a.m.: Former Raiders’ offensive coordinator Todd Downing is being hired by the Jets. Perhaps that could spark a reunion with Derek Carr.


February 12

12:22 p.m.: The Raiders may have competition for Aaron Rodgers if they want him.


February 10

12:15 p.m.: A Raiders assistant may be heading to another AFC West squad.

8:32 a.m.: Josh Jacobs is hoping Aaron Rodgers comes to Las Vegas.

9:29 a.m.: Here is the list of all of the draft prospects who will attend the NFL combine later in the month.

7:22 a.m.: There are strong rumors the Raiders will give star free-agent running back Josh Jacobs the franchise tag.

2:42 p.m.: The Raiders signed offensive lineman Justin Murray to a reserve/future contract. He appeared in two games with the team in 2018.

1:34 p.m.: This is cool. Way to go, Darren, and congrats Major Mills.

12:26 p.m.: Raiders’ general manager Dave Ziegler thinks there will be a trade market for quarterback Derek Carr in the coming weeks.
