Raiders general manager search: Adam Peters out of mix

He was considered a top candidate in Las Vegas

UPDATED 8:45 a.m.:

Adam Peters is out of the mix for the Las Vegas Raiders’ general manager job. He was hired in Washington on Friday morning.

PREVIOUSLY

We are looking at some of the candidates as the Las Vegas Raiders begin their interviews for the general manager job, which they may decide on prior to hiring a head coach.

The Raiders have set up interviews for several candidates, including interim general manager Champ Kelly, and are reportedly beginning interviews this week.

One of the top candidates is Adam Peters. Let’s get to know Peters better.

Current job:

He has been the San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager since 2021.

Age:

44.

NFL experience:

Prior to his current role, Peters was the 49ers’ vice president of player personnel from 2017-20. He was with the Denver Broncos spanning 2009-16 with roles spanning from a scout, assistant director of college scouting and the then director of college scouting. He began his NFL career as a scout in New England from 2003-08.

Playing career:

He was a reserve defensive end at UCLA.

Known for:
A sharp scouting eye. he has been in several winning programs and is well respected. Folks around the league think he is ready to take over a franchise as a general manager.

Other interest:

He is considered a leading contender to become the general manager of the Washington Commanders.
