The Las Vegas Raiders began the offseason Monday with speculation centered around interim head coach Antonio Pierce and Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh. In fact, it was even reported that it was a two-man race between them.

Yet, as the week winds down, all of the movement has been on the general manager front and the Raiders haven’t had any reported interviews for the coaching job.

Meanwhile, Pierce is set to interview for the Tennessee Titans job this weekend and he reportedly is keeping all of his options open as Raiders’ owner Mark Davis conducts his search.

While everyone, players including, are getting antsy, there is a chance the Raiders’ coaching search eventually extends beyond Pierce and Harbaugh, who’s name has been quiet around the league this week.

Two names that have emerged this week are Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll. Both became free this week. Both are open to coaching year.

Could Belichick or Carroll end up on Davis’ radar? Why not?

Davis is said to want to make a splash and both of these Super Bowl winners would qualify as a wave maker on the Vegas Strip.

It’s also interesting that Carroll spent a decade in Seattle with Ed Dobbs, who is considered as a top general-manager candidate in Las Vegas. Dobbs is also connected to Harbaugh from their Raiders’ days together more than 20 years ago.

If the Raiders pursue Belichick or Carroll, it would likely be for a fairly short-term, perhaps three-five seasons. Belichick turns 72 in April and Carroll turns 73 in September,

Who would you rather have, Belichick or Carroll if that where the Raiders’ search turns?
