Raiders have been eliminated from the playoffs

A heartbreaking finish to the season

The Raiders were sitting at 6-3 on the season. With an extra playoff spot in 2020, it looked as if they’d be returning to the playoffs. They would really need something to go wrong to blow their chance.

Well, something did go horribly, horribly wrong. After such a promising start to the season, the Las Vegas Raiders have officially been eliminated from playoff contention.

They look a late lead against the Dolphins last night, and then a miracle struck for Miami. I don’t even want to go over that damn Ryan Fitzpatrick throw again. But c’mon.

Miami marched down the field, hit the game-winning field goal and eliminated the Raiders from playoff contention. After starting the season 6-3, the Raiders are now 7-8 with one game remaining in the season. They’re 1-5 over their last six games, with their lone win being a true miracle against the Jets.

Since their hot start, they had a last second loss to the Chiefs at home, a 40-point blowout loss to the Falcons, a miraculous victory against the Jets, a 17-point loss to the Colts, an overtime loss to the Chargers, and now a game-winning loss to the Dolphins.

It’s a forgetful season, to say the least. What started out with such promise ends with such disappointment. As they always say, there’s always next year.
