After a forgetful loss last week, the Las Vegas Raiders will look to get back into the win column with the hopes of picking up a much-needed win in New York (well, Rutherford, New Jersey) against the Jets.
Speaking of needing a win ... the Jets haven’t picked up one of those yet. They are currently the only team in the NFL without a W.
Entering today, the Raiders currently sit as the No. 8 seed in the AFC standings at 6-5. They are two games behind the No. 6 seed, and only two games back from being the No. 3 seed. So there is still a lot of time for the Raiders to move up and make a playoff push.
The Raiders traveled to New York to face the Jets last season, and things didn’t go too well. The Jets came out victorious, defeating them 34-3. Vegas won the previous two meetings before that.
Shockingly, the Raiders haven’t beaten the Jets on the road since Oct. 6, 1996. So, essentially, I was born in July of 1996, the Raiders won shortly after, and decided to go 24+ years without doing it again.
I’m sorry, Raiders fans. Maybe today that streak finally comes to an end.
