Drama in Los Angeles!
Well, not really. This is all in good fun. (We’re assuming!)
Earlier in the week, the Chargers hired Brandon Staley to be their new head coach. Staley didn’t have to move far as he was the defensive coordinator for the Rams the year prior.
Staley has quickly shot up the NFL ranks, landing a head coaching job rather quickly. It wasn’t too long ago that he was playing at the collegiate level. He was the starting quarterback at Dayton in 2003 and 2004. You know who else played QB at Dayton? Raiders head coach Jon Gruden. However, he wasn’t a starter ...
When asked about one of the coaches he’ll be facing twice a year, Staley responded with this subtle jab.
“With Jon Gruden, we were both quarterbacks at Dayton. … I’ll tell you that I was a little better quarterback than he was.”
Nothing but love I’m sure. Gotta love a little drama.
