Silver Minings: Colts inquired about Derek Carr

Indianapolis was interested in acquiring Carr before trading for Carson Wentz

NFL: Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Raiders fans seem to be pretty split on Derek Carr as the starting quarterback for the team moving forward. Half the fans appear to be content with him, and half the fans want a different option.

Well, for those of you who want him to stay, it looks like you’re in luck.

Prior to trading for Carson Wentz, it looks as if the Indianapolis Colts inquired with the Raiders about the availability of Carr. By the looks of it, the Raiders weren’t interested whatsoever.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as it wouldn’t make sense for the Raiders to part with Carr unless they’d be getting a sure upgrade. We’re not sure what the potential package could have looked like, but the Colts would have had to blow the Raiders away with an offer they couldn’t refuse to get a deal done.

Sure, more teams will likely call and ask what it’ll take to get Carr out of Las Vegas, but I don’t think a team will be willing to offer the required package it would take to get him.
