Silver Minings: Darren Waller is proud of teammate Carl Nassib

He shows his support for his teammate in a recent interview

NFL: Miami Dolphins at Las Vegas Raiders Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Ever since Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib became the first active NFL player to come out as gay, the support around the league for him has been extraordinary, especially from his teammates.

If you look at the comments under his Instagram post, it’s filled with numerous teammates showing their support for Nassib.

Darren Waller was recently interviewed by TMZ and showed nothing but love and support for Nassib. He couldn’t stop smiling throughout the entire video and you could just see in his eyes and hear in his voice truly how happy he was for his friend.

“Oh, that’s dope. I feel like one day it won’t be this huge thing. That’s who is he. It’s all respect and all love for Carl. He’ll be the same person he’s been all along and we love having him on our team.

“That takes courage that I couldn’t even imagine having. Nobody has done that. You’re a pioneer for real.

“The media attention is definitely going to be there. We’re here to play football and help our teammates get better. That’s what we’re going to do with Carl, the same as usual.”
