Skittles made sure to play on the publicity they receive due to the fact that they are Marshawn Lynch's favorite candy. They added their bit of craziness to the mix in their 'Settle it' commercial.

The premise is simple and strange. Two men are eating skittles. There is one yellow left. Both men want the yellow one as it is their favorite flavor. They must therefore "settle it the usual way". They live in a town where every dispute is settled by an arm wrestling match. This means everyone in the town has a ginormous right arm. That means everyone. Men, women, elderly people, toddlers, pets...

The townspeople rush to the square to witness the action. The two men arm wrestle. One man wins, gets the Skittle, tastes the rainbow.

Unfortunately for them, their number one fan, Marshawn Lynch, did not taste victory in the Super Bowl because he wasn't given the ball with the game on the line. They passed in in second and goal at the one yard line and it was intercepted. And that settled it.

Taste the tears.

The commercial starts out with a pretty interesting clip of former Today Show hosts Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel back in 1994 stumped by this new "internet" thing. It seems pretty funny now but back them most people had no clue what the internet was, let alone what it would become.

BMW draws a parallel between the unknown, soon-to-be phenomenon that was the internet and their new electric vehicle, the i3. And they bring in Couric and Gumbel who act with the car in much the same wonder as they had 21 years ago when the internet was in its infancy. Perhaps even laying it on a little thick.

Here is a behind the scenes video of Couric and Gumbel shooting the video where each reveal that they have never been in a commercial before and enjoyed their little reunion to work on this commercial.

Some of you might be too young to remember how much of a staple these two were for so many years on the Today show. And for those unaware, Bryant's brother Greg is an NFL and NCAA basketball announcer.

What Nationwide gained with their ad about Mindy Kaling being invisible, they lost in a big way with easily the worst commercial to air during Sunday's Super Bowl.

The Kaling ad aired first and it was what we have come to expect from Nationwide commercials; Light hearted, fun. It features Mindy Kaling of "The Mindy Project" thinking that perhaps she might be invisible. She doesn't discover that she is real until she tries to sniff Matt Damon and he gets weirded out by it.

Most of us know Nationwide as the company who gave us Peyton Manning singing their jingle during various tasks such as "Chicken parm, you taste so good."

But then they go with the 'make your skin crawl' approach. They accomplish that with this ad right here which they call "Make safe happen"

Not sure when they started getting M. Night Shamalan to direct their commercials, but they should probably have reconsidered. The message is a good one if you can get past the way it's delivered. It's about keeping your kids safe from accidents. But... wow... I don't think any of us needed to 'see dead people' during a football game.

Sorry, Mindy, but it seems you've once again been rendered invisible.

Walter White is back. Esurance puts Bryan Cranston back in his Breaking Bad hazmat suit in their Super Bowl ad. The show ended last season after six seasons and a tremendous following so his brief return for this commercial is a rare treat for those who were avid followers of the AMC show.

For those not familiar, Walter White was a high school chemistry teacher who was diagnosed with cancer. Because of his chemistry background, he came up the with the idea to make meth as a way of paying for his treatments. Without giving away anything else, we'll just leave it at that.

So, you can see how having a meth dealer behind the counter at your local drug store might just be a bit off-putting. As he said, he's "sorta" the other guy. But not really.

Esurance actually ran a couple of ads with this premise. The other had Lindsey Lohan trying to pick up a couple kids from school.

There were a lot of crazy and outlandish commercials during the Super Bowl as there always is. Most of them have sex, kids, animals, or random weirdness in them. Then there are ones like this Dodge commercial. It sends a message that needs to be sent -- respect wisdom.

What I really like about this commercial is it its empowering quality. Most of the time you see elderly people in Super Bowl commercials, they are the butt of a joke. Usually the joke is them attempting to do something youthful. That isn't a joke. It's a demeaning cheap shot.

This commercial was one of the few I have ever seen which not only doesn't make fun of the elderly, it presents wisdom as being kinda badass. They show several people, many of whom are over 100 years of age telling you to live life to the fullest. To "Live fast" and "Never, ever forget where you came from."

Sure, they are talking about the Dodge company being 100 years old, and that's cool too. And well done drawing correlations to the wisdom of our elders.

We know Mt Dew has a lot of caffeine and a lot of sugar. But apparently there's something in their new energy drink, Kickstarter that is a bit more potent. The first two dudes look like they're possessed by the spirit of... something, while the third guy looks like he needs a needs medical attention.

That's to say nothing of everything else in the room which also suddenly begins twerking and pop-locking like they're at a rave. Oh, I get it. It's like when Mt Dew had that product placement in Transformers. Kickstarter has the All Spark and it has the whole den coming to life. Except in this case, they just do the grind on each other.

That's some powerful shit.

This is the extended version. The one that aired during the Super Bowl didn't show as many things dancing as time is at a premium during the Super Bowl. Pretty funny to see all the different things they can make come alive.

T-Mobile is back in the ads during the Super Bowl this year with another solid offering. This year it's Rob Riggle with his Data Vulture. The Data Vulture scavenges all the data he doesn't use each month. As the woman in the breakroom points out, if he got T-Mobile, he would get to keep the data he paid for. The vulture doesn't like this.

There is also a 'Behind the Vulturing' video T-Mobile posted that's pretty funny.

T-Mobile will also be running this ad with Kim Kardashian wanting to take selfies of her large, high-priced ass and the outfits she stretches around it. The screen grab they use tell you just what they're really selling with this ad. And it aint phones.

But using the one thing Kim Kardashian actually does (be in front of a camera) is at least accurate, so there's that.

The past couple years, T-Mobile has done well in the Super Bowl ad department. Last year it was this Tim Tebow commercial that was a strong contender for best commercial.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have an early favorite for funniest Super Bowl commercial. And it will be hard to top. I mean, an ax wielding Danny Trejo in an episode of The Brady Bunch? That's must-see TV right there.

You see, Marsha is upset because Peter hit her on the nose with the football and now she has a bandage on her nose with a school dance to attend. Not helping the situation is she's hungry. And when she's hungry she's not gets "a little hostile". In this case, she's Danny Trejo with an ax kind of hostile. So, dad gives her a Snickers and she's back to her normal 70s sitcom self.

Then Jan is upset because it's all about "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha". She's clearly in need of a Snickers herself because when she's hungry, she turns into Steve Buscemi, then she storms off into her bedroom and slams the door. Classic.
